Candle Care

Basic Care 101

Keep wick centered & trimmed to 1/4” at all times.

  • Do not leave the candle unattended.
  • Place on temperature safe surface to avoid heat damage.
  • Keep away from drafts.
  • Keep wax pool free of debris.
  • Do no burn candle for mare than 4 hours at a time.
  • Do not burn candle when 1/4” of wax remain.
  • Do not use water or any other liquid to extinguish your candle.

Soot issues

If you are experiencing excess soot trim your wick to 1/8”.

  • Move candle away from any vents, fans, or air drafts.
  • Make sure to not burn candle longer than the recommended time of 3-4 hours.

Tunneling

On your first burn of your candle allow it to burn 3-4hrs to make sure it reaches a full wax pool.

  • Wax pool is when your candle has burned and the wax touches all edges of your candle vessel.
  • If tunneling continuing proceed to burn candle in increments of 3-4 hours and trim your wick 1/4” before every burn.

Wick issues

If flame is self-extinguishing take a moment and wait until wick is cool then loosen the wick fibers by twisting the wick with your fingers and relight.

  • Blow out the candle and ensure the wicks are completely extinguished.
  • Use a paper towel to absorb some of the wax near the wicks of the candle.
  • Dispose of the paper towel and ensure no debris is left in the wax.
  • Relight your candle and note if the candle begins burning properly.

Fragrance Performance

If your candle is not releasing a strong fragrance we suggest:

  • Make sure to burn your candle for 3-4 hours each time you light your candle.
  • This will allow the wax and wick to heat properly and emit fragrance.
  • Move your candle to another location to avoid drafts from vents or fans.
  • Single wick candles are meant to be used in smaller rooms to enhance fragrance performance.
  • Double or Triple wick candles work best in larger rooms.

Wooden Wick Care Tips

Trim the wooden wick before burn. We recommend even trimming before the first burn.

  • Trimming your wooden wick candles are very important because of the carbon build up on the wood.
  • Trimming your wick allowed the candle to have a steady flame and prevent excessive sooting.
  • Burn the wooden wick 3-4 hours during the first burn and each burn after that.
  • Burning your wooden wick for 3-4 hours allows the fragrance to fully heat and emit into your space and it prevents tunneling
  • If your wooden candle has a flame that is taller than 1in, carefully extinguish the candle.
  • Once the candle is extinguished, and the wax has fully hardened, trim the wooden wick to 1/4”, to remove any of the black carbon layer.
